We became a full member of the National Council of Social Service on 21 April 2003.
CCS was formed to cater to the needs of elderly such as involving them and training them in volunteer works; and also to promote good moral values as well as to care for their well-being.
In November 2003, CCS set up the Concern & Care Bukit Batok Neighbourhood Link (NL) to meet the social needs of the residents there and to reach out more effectively into the community.
2. To promote the spirit of volunteerism and engage the residents, particularly the well and able elderly, to be active volunteers.
3. To mobilise community resources in building a local support network for the vulnerable residents.
4. To provide and co-ordinate activities that would promote inter-generational interaction among residents in the neighbourhood.
5. To identify benefactors and volunteers from outside the local community who can provide financial and other support to needy residents, when local service providers and volunteers cannot serve them.
6. To organise activities and functions which could include games, singing and other art and craft lessons for residents, and arrange competitions within the community and with other constituencies and cities where we have sister charities (Taipei), to strengthen community cohesion, promote multi-racial harmony, and enhance the quality of life of the lonely and the poor, especially the elderly residents.
