CCS is also an approved Institutions of a Public Character (IPCs) since 2003 and is authorised to issue tax deduction receipts for tax-deductible donations received. (i.e. donors are given tax-deduction for donations made to these organisations).
CCS was set up in 27 July 1996 as a society and subsequently registered under the Charities Act on 11 June 1997. We have been a full member of the National Council of Social Service and NCSS Charitable Fund (General Fund) since 2003.

Since 2010, we are approved by Ministry of Education (MOE) to be the service provider for the Sexuality Education Programmes in schools and by Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) to provide family education talks and workshops in schools.
Our objective is to initiate, assist and provide activities and schemes of social services for the alleviation of poverty, suffering, ignorance or ill-health whether physical or mental, without limitation of age, sex, race, nationality, religion or moral character, by the provision of assistance education, training services or counselling. To empower the weak and needy through equipping and counselling that they may be empowered to live life to the fullest.
Our work centres on:
– Training and equipping: We specialise in family life education programmes and workshops that strengthen ties within the family.
– Financial support: We provide financial assistance schemes to students to help with their education as well as families who are struggling financially.
– Befriending: We reach out to youths through mentorship programmes as well as the vulnerable elderly.
– Counselling and case management: Our counselling services arm aims to help individuals and families to work through issues.
o Family Life Education
Covers workshop topics that are applicable to families, parents, couples, youths and seniors with focus on key values to building a healthy family system.
o Financial Assistance
Provides financial assistance schemes to help needy families to cope with the rising costs of living, and students in the pursuit of their education.
o Befriending & Support
Reach out to students and seniors with our befriending programmes. Also provides support for caregivers of elderly.
o Counselling & Case Management
Help individuals and families to work through issues related to financial, behavioural and interpersonal difficulties, and marital/family conflicts.
o Cornerstore & The Barn
Located at the Odeon Katong, Cornerstore is a venue for people to connect over coffee and waffles, while The Barn is a volunteer-run thrift shop that sells pre-loved goods. All proceeds are used to fund our welfare programmes.
o Cornerstone Senior Centre
An integrated wellness centre located at Ang Mo Kio, Cheng San that promotes the overall well-being of seniors so that they can age-in-place and foster strong 3 generational bonds within the community.
