About
Global Compact Network Singapore (GCNS) is the Singapore chapter of the United Nations Global Compact and the lead platform promoting corporate sustainability.
In Singapore, to promote sustainability, the Singapore Exchange (SGX) announced in March 2013 that it would be moving to a “comply or explain” basis for listed companies to produce Sustainability Reports. The revised Singapore Code of Corporate Governance requires sustainability issues (environmental and social factors) to be considered by all Boards of Directors, as part of their strategic formulation. Increasingly, investors are including analysis of company’s sustainability risks/opportunities in their investment decisions.
