The Home has a capacity of 70 residents. Being a voluntary welfare organizations (VWO) in Singapore, the Home received donations from the public to fund the operating cost and expenses of the Home.

HISTORY OF THE HOME

The Home is built by Thian Leng Chong Toh Tong (Temple) in the 1980s. The funding to build to its present old folks home is by the support of everyone from all walk of life in Singapore ang Malaysia. It takes a number of years in the process of building the Home.

It started its operation as an Old Folks Home in 25 January 1991.

ACTIVITIES

Beside public support to assist in running the Home,the Home has also organized fundraising activities such as food fair, flag-day and special events on festive periods to increase to awareness of the home and and thus continue to operate for a better home.

24-hour Nursing and Medical Care
Thian Leng Old Folks Home for the Elders is fully dedicated to meet the needs of each resident , caring for the body,mind and spirit of each individual is our top priority with round-the-clock nursing care provided by professionally trained nurses, assistant nurses,nursing aides and healthcare attendants.Together,they helped to improve the clinical outcomes for the residents particularly in areas such as infection control, prevention of pressure sores and living .

A general practitioner regularly visits the Home .

With a team that is equipped and ready to cover all aspects of medical care , residents receive the highest level of support 24-hours a day, 7 days a week .

Services provided by our Nursed:

– Monitoring of general health.

– Monitoring of vital signs (Blood Pressure, Temperature , Pulse Rate etc), Blood Sugar etc.

– Assistance with Activities of Daily Living – Feeding , Bathing , Toileting, Dressing, Transferring and mobility.

– Supervision of oral medication.

– administration of intramuscular injection.

– Wound dressing.

– Insertion of nasogastric tube and nasogastric tube feeding.

– change of urinary catheter.

– tracheostomy Care.

– Stoma / Colostomy Care.

– Health education for the residents & Caregivers.

Resident Social Life
Thian Leng Old Folks Home organises indoor and outdoor activities with the supports from volunteers and business organizations. Activities for residents to learn , interact , express themselves and just have fun.
