Ms Natalie Khoo posted a heartfelt tribute to her dear brother who had committed suicide recently.
Her brother, Mr Brian Khoo had always been known to have a cheerful personality and neither one expect this to happen.
His sister believed that he must have been diagnosed with depression recently and this added stress may not just be from work but possibly the lockdown measure which restricted him from physical and social interactions with others.
She is calling out to everyone out there who possibly have depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts or any other mental health conditions to seek professional help.
The key is to just talk about it to someone regardless of whether they are busy or do not bother to care. This will help to lift some of the stress of your mind and heart. Bottling everything to yourself is very harmful to your mental health.
She says, “There is no shame in asking for help”. Communicate with loved ones, friends or even acquaintances. Furthermore, she added that if one does not have the ability to help someone who is battling a mental condition, they should connect them with someone who can.
She also mentioned that “those who don’t know where to start” can reach out to her directly.
It’s a very heart-warming story of the siblings, you can read the full story at here
